About this opportunity

Preform major/minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and install a variety of production equipment as well as maintain building and grounds. Work from daily job assignments, prints, schematics, facility check sheet, machine manuals and preventative maintenance sheets.


What you will do

Quickly respond to operational or technical issues to ensure maximum productivity.

Troubleshoot, and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.

Optimize machine output and increase quality of preventative maintenance.

Tear down equipment and rebuild, replace, or repair defective components: motors, gear boxes, clutches, bearings and electrical systems

PM on production equipment and facility. IE: pumps, chillers, carpentry, painting, drywall, compressors, and main power systems.

Work closely with production supervisors and production personnel with equipment repairs.

Fabricate/design machine parts as required.

Perform PLC and other low voltage control changes and make diagnostic checks on production machines

Install and repair high voltage and low voltage circuits for production lines and facility.

Assist outside contractors with on-site projects and repairs

We are currently looking for a narrow web flexographic printer to join our team. Experience running narrow web flexographic printers is a must.  Other skills and experience needed are as follows: quality minded, attention to detail, safety conscious, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a team centered environment, task flexibility.


The flexo operator is a day shift position working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some overtime may be required depending on work load. Offset printing experience is not required but would be beneficial.

About the Position:

The Press Operator position requires that all Operators be able and willing to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner while abiding by all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Our Press Operator duties include but are not limited to reading, understanding, and being able to properly fill out all required paperwork, meeting all inspection criteria of the product as well as company equipment, proper flagging of rolls, properly setting print impressions as well as die impressions, cleaning and caring for plates, maintaining inks, calculating linear footage, proper handling and caring for raw materials as well as precise accountability of material usage.


Responsibilities:

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in and around your work area at all times.

- Perform proper area clearance before and after each job.

- Read and comprehend information in each job ticket.

- Perform proper inspections of work area and equipment.

- Inspect plates for proper mounting as well as quality problems prior to mounting on press.

- Must be able to mount plates when necessary.

- Flag rolls accordingly (brown tape = web break), (green tape = beginning), (red tape = end or plate wipes), and (black = missing labels).

- Set print impressions by going down an additional ½ turn after the initial impression is set.

- Set die impressions and perform die strike test to ensure proper impression before running.

- Clean plates thoroughly and store them properly after each use.

- Maintain all inks properly to ensure ink quality.

- Ensure adequate “okay to run” verification is obtained prior to the running job.

- Properly and completely fill out the Press Product Monitor Sheet on all jobs.

- Label all finished rolls with proper roll tags filled out completely.

- Stage all finished rolls (jobs) in individual cages provided to avoid contamination and product mix.

- Calculate linear footage needed for each job prior to running.

- Document all material used on the provided inventory pick ticket.

- Pull and label retains and places within job ticket for each roll ran.

- Perform all necessary Hagen entries for every job ran (make ready, run time, wash up, net and gross quantities ran, job number, etc.).

- Ensure that goals set are met to complete all jobs within the estimated time allowed.

- Must be able to make appropriate adjustments to press to achieve a quality product that meets customer standards.

- Perform all required preventive maintenance requirements.

About the Working Environment:

Your work will be done in a clean manufacturing facility that produces high-quality packaging products for Pharmaceutical Companies. You may be required to lift up to 50lbs., bend, stoop, reach and walk short distances to complete job tasks. Position Summary

The Press Operator’s task is to work in concert with the printing department ensuring the quality and efficiency of the print being produced. Operates machine by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Tasks

• Reads, initials, and dates work order to verify knowledge of order specifications at the beginning of each order and checks blue lines or sample bags for colors and correct copy.

• Performs set-up on machine, by mounting cylinders in register, with proper impression, locating eye marks and freight stamps, and folding sample bags to order specifications with supervisor approval.

• Monitors continual quality of print while press is in operation.

• Records density readings on all process colors and places density bars on plates when necessary.

• Monitors lbs. Per ream of lacquer on at least one roll of each production job running that has lacquer.

• Monitors slide angle, color, and UPC readings on every print roll, making sure C.I. Lab is double checking. The readings must be recorded and accurate before running an order.

• Instructs Press Operator 2 & 3 as well as Proof Mounter.

• Hangs one quality run speed tear sheet off each finished print roll, checking for print quality.

• Completes all paperwork on job jackets, daily production reports, hourly check reports, with supervisor initialing and approving all hourly checks, and reports total scrap to supervisor at end of shift.

• References equipment manuals, lead man, or supervisor for instruction.

• Relieves Assistant Press Operator and Proof Mounter for breaks and instructs the Press Operator 2 & 3 when to relieve themselves for breaks, assuming each other’s responsibilities.

• Performs daily maintenance on machine.

• Notifies supervisor when maintenance problems arise.

• Effective with following instructions and requests from supervisor and management.

• Seeks out information on orders and job duties when in doubt.

• Communicates well with other operators at any time throughout their shift specifically at shift change.

• Keeps floor free from obstructions, paper, ink, and other materials, and keeps general work area clean.

Job Description

Operate a UV Flexo or Rotogravure printing press producing printed products of high quality. Maintain press equipment, assists in training, and ensures a safe and clean working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership to other team members in performing quality printing and meeting manufacturing goals.

1. Oversee the day to day management of assigned accounts including processing of new work, pricing, change orders, invoicing and production by working closely with the Customer Service team to ensure achievement of customer expectations.

2. Establish and maintain a database for the purpose of managing current and new customer relationships using company preferred technology (Sugar CRM and Microsoft Outlook)

3. Function as the contact between company and the customer for any on-job issues that may arise. (Pricing, QC problems, service problems, scheduling, etc.)

4. Follow up with current clients via written, phone and face-to-face interaction for the purpose of maintaining professional relationships with customers.

5. Assist (or direct to internal resource) in troubleshooting problems associated with a sale or delivery of the products and services.

6. Verify customer satisfaction and take corrective actions when indicated.

This person will learn every aspect of the packaging industry regarding offset print manufacturing, die cutting, thermoforming, sleeve application and gluing.

About the role:

The Plate Mounting Technician is responsible for accurately mounting plates on to printing cylinders or sleeves so that the colors, as designated by the individual work order, go into the correct register when they get to the presses. Responsibilities:

• Work from shop orders, specifications and instructions.

A Press Technician / Operator is responsible for set-up, operation, wash-up, and routine maintenance of flexographic and digital printing equipment. He/she manufactures product based on customer specifications while adhering to safety, compliance, and quality requirements.

Night Shift – 5 PM to 5 AM - Press Operator Summary:

This is an upper level position that requires prior Press Operation experience. · Maintain an eye for detail (proofing sheet)

· Wash plates, gum in, and store properly

· Maintain safe work area and safe work habits around machinery

· Train and motivate Press Helper

· Be knowledgeable of Quality Assurance procedures (follow established Standard Operating Procedures & Work Instructions for work area) and assist Quality Assurance staff.

· Train other Press Operators on all of the above

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee needs to have good hearing and vision. This position also requires the employee to: use hands and fingers in continuous lifting and stacking (repetitive) motions, handle and feel tools and controls, stand for long periods of time, walk, pull up to 1,800 pounds on manual pallet jack and lift up to 80 pounds.

Growing label company in Fenton, MO outside of St. Louis, MO is seeking a flexo operator for their 2nd shift (M- TH 3pm-1:30am). Experience with mark andy presses is a plus. We are looking for experienced Flexo Operators. Positions available on Second Shift (Monday to Friday 3pm to 11pm)

Experience on presses such as mark andy, webtron, comco, aquaflex, nilpeter, gallus, etc. are required.

A 10% shift differential will be paid in addition to the hourly pay

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate a flexographic printing press for the manufacture of labels. Knowledge of anilox and UV inks. Uses computer systems to track time and material usage. Uses a web inspection system to monitor quality of print.
