Position Summary: Responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. Meets safety, housekeeping, quality, scrap and productivity quality standards. Sets up and operates a flexographic printing press.

Responsibilities:

Review job ticket and work with Press Assistants to ensure job is set up properly on the press per required specifications and job notes (ink, dies, stock, plates).

Assist in setting up job and changing over to next copy or job.

Run the job setup on the press and log data related to the job setup in the LabelTrax system.

Run the job per specifications and log when completed, noting material used, etc.

While running the press, review printed rolls for quality and consistency related to all aspects of the labels including color registration and die cut.

Following completion of the job, move finished roll to finishing department and breakdown and clean machine in preparation for the next job.

Communicate with Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager regarding any issues with the labels and dies.

Ensure proper data collection for each job, including job notes on material and time variance.

Perform basic troubleshooting of the press along with the Press Assistant and Supervisor.

Maintain the work area and machines in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed company policies and safety regulations.

Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and participate in training when offered or needed.

The main function of the Senior Scheduler is to balance the needs of internal and external customers in the logistical planning and scheduling of production orders on a day-to-day basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Adheres to and enforces the established safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures and other regulations. Ensures these procedures and expectations are maintained throughout the shift and validates that the associated inspections are performed.

• Reads and analyzes production schedules to determine production requirements and evaluates current production estimates and outputs.

• Manages production jobs for efficiency, meeting or improving upon standards for setup times, waste and output (effective feet/minute). Ensures standard operating conditions are followed per machine, per job. Continuously motivates and challenges operators to set higher, yet achievable goals and provides support to attain them.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

To provide maintenance services to all areas of the company including the building and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provides support for all areas of the facility and equipment including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and PLCs, drives, servo motors, etc.

4. Performs preventative maintenance on-time based on a schedule, while also beginning to build and implement condition monitoring routes, when/where appropriate.

5. Maintains proper inventory levels in an organized manner of tooling, hardware, replacement parts, supplies, and solvents to ensure available at the facility.

6. Installs new equipment independently as well as with contractors.

7. Coordinates and/or works with contractors to complete more specialized repairs and/or installations.

8. Maintains an organized and safe environment in the facility, at the equipment, and within the maintenance department.

9. Performs miscellaneous maintenance projects as instructed by management.

10. Provides on-call support (both phone and on-site) based on an on-call schedule.

11. Documents repairs that were completed for communication within the maintenance department and to the production team members as well as general record keeping.

12. Adheres to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards set in place by the FDA at all times while on the production floor.

BOPP, PET’s, NYLON, Coated Films, barrier films, CPP, PE, cosmetic webs, recyclable films, compostable films and more. • OPV coatings to control COF, static, gloss, matt, soft touch. • Understanding of seal types including fin seal, lap seal, pouches, lidding and more. • Understanding of different types of pouch formats including standup pouches, flat bottom, zippers, double cuts, tear knotch etc. • Understanding of various packaging equipment utilized by end users including VFFS and HFFS. • Line print and process print Familiar with different types of photopolymer plates and sleeves. Including Kodak and Dupont plate material • Structures as they apply to food packaging, frozen foods, dry foods, bakery, nutraceuticals, coffee, bottle label, pouches, produce and more. • Familiar with pre-press and artwork process.
