This group loves to develop their employees and promote from within.

They have a pit-crew approach to running their presses and are looking for craftsman, crew chiefs to take lead on each press.

This is a fast-paced environment that offers a variety in work. While the successful candidate will have experience in all areas of press operations, you will ultimately be responsible for running your press by synchronizing your pit crew consisting of a turret operator, press helpers, plate mounters, die mounters, and print station cleaning personnel. Your duties will also include pre- and post-press quality checks. While coordinating the smooth operations of your press, you will continue to build and hone your craft with unique label runs and opportunities for additional training.

2nd Shift 2pm – 10:15pm Monday – Friday

Some overtime opportunities – either covering in 4-hour increments before or after shift for vacations or some Saturdays.

Requirements of Job:

- Experience Flexo Press Operator Required, prefer experience on Mark Andy P7 or Aquaflex.

- Must have experience in all operations of running a narrow flexo press.

- Must have water base inks experience – UV flexo or LED is a plus

- Must understand PMS book, and color matching

- Must be able to do basic math skills

- Must have experience with set-up of dies, and die cutting

- Must be able to read work order to ensure all proper materials, inks, plates, and order quantities are matched.

As a quality inspection engineer, you will be responsible for minding press output to inspect and test samples, as well as performing rewind and inspection of product off press. The successful candidate will be team-oriented collaborating with scheduling supervisor and shipping personnel. You will be an integral part of coordinating the seamless transfer of product from press to shipping and helping to monitor deviations from schedule.

NOTE: Initial and some periodic training will be scheduled for first shift (6 am – 2:15 pm)

Qualifications, Education and Experience

• 5 years’ experience within the industry

The Supply Chain Manager will manage the end to end supply chain process for the site from order entry to receipt of payment in order to maximize service, responsiveness, agility and cost in line with customer expectations. They play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The Supply Chain Manager has overall responsibility for all aspects of customer service, planning and scheduling, logistics and materials management, as well as overall planning, management and reporting across the supply chain for the site.

Typical Accountabilities

The role holder is responsible for end to end supply chain management for the site. They will collaborate with Regional Supply Chain and supply chain managers on other sites as necessary, in order to optimize demand/capacity balancing, supply and sourcing across the region. The Supply Chain Manager has a short to medium term planning and decision making horizon of today through 1 year. They will manage a small number of direct reports, including the activities of customer service, planning / scheduling and logistics and materials management teams. The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the site leader with a matrix reporting relationship to the Regional Supply Chain leader.

• Collaborate and build value adding relationships with Sales teams and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate provision of goods in line with customer demand.

Job Description

About the Position:

The Press Operator position requires that all Operators be able and willing to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner while abiding by all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Our Press Operator duties include but are not limited to reading, understanding, and being able to properly fill out all required paperwork, meeting all inspection criteria of the product as well as company equipment, proper flagging of rolls, properly setting print impressions as well as die impressions, cleaning and caring for plates, maintaining inks, calculating linear footage, proper handling and caring for raw materials as well as precise accountability of material usage.

- Stage all finished rolls (jobs) in individual cages provided to avoid contamination and product mix.

- Pull and label retains and places within job ticket for each roll ran.

- Perform all necessary Hagen entries for every job ran (make ready, run time, wash up, net and gross quantities ran, job number, etc.).

This is an upper level position that requires prior Press Operation experience. Reads, reviews and understands the assigned and scheduled job according to the detailed specifications on the job ticket, QMS documents, the spec sheet(s), customer spec sheets(s), and proofs, including the approved press samples, in order to set-up and run the required equipment.

Is responsible for ensuring that all required materials and components for the job are available and at the press. These include; stock, dies, print cylinders, inks, pumps, color standards for premium colors, etc.

Inspects all components for acceptable quality before running the job. These include such items as dies, plates, stock, inks, auxiliary equipment, etc. Inspects samples for fine detail sometimes using tools as digital scopes, micrometers, spectrophotometers, fine rulers.

Test-runs using make-ready stock to verify the accuracy of the set-up.

Achieves press “OK” (match/approval) on the job proofs under the direction of the Production Shift Supervisor.

Proofs all copy and performs a die test. Compares die registration and copy placement.

Balances and maintains ink systems for print quality.

Maintains equal or better quality than the OK’d sample throughout the production run, flagging all poor quality product.

Performs a complete quality check, at the end of every printed roll, by comparing it to the OK’d sample utilizing any required quality inspection equipment. Performs a die test, at the end of every roll, on all jobs. Checks for offsetting on liner. Makes any required adjustments.

Performs all necessary written documentation according to required specifications.

Checks the next scheduled job to determine if any components presently at press site will also be required for the next scheduled job.

Dismounts or removes all auxiliary equipment which is not common to the next job, and performs the required clean-up procedures.

When appropriate, directs the maintenance, clean-up, and set-up work tasks of the press assistants to aide in the efficient running of the presses.

Performs routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.

Performs all assigned work efficiently and on schedule.

Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Keeps work area neat and clean.

Takes care of equipment following specified work procedures.

Reports time and materials consumption accurately.

Reports all problems to the Production Manager or the Production Shift Supervisor.

Obeys company rules and observes all safety regulations.

Comes to work when assigned and on time; works overtime when requested according to company policy.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or the Production Shift Supervisor.

Performs job duties in accordance with all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to follow verbal and written job instructions, including those dealing with dimensions and quantity. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Ability to operate Label (flexographic) pressroom equipment, i.e., Arsoma, Mark Andy, Comco, Webtron, Gallus, Delta presses, sheeters, stackers, fan folding equipment, infrared heating equipment, turret, IMASS peel grain testers, digital scope, densitometer, gloss meter, UV equipment, etc.

Level of work activity is heavy, involving lifting and exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with the aid of lifting equipment, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Above average mechanical aptitude and ability to perform repetitive manual tasks. Manual dexterity and excellent eye/hand coordination are required to safely manipulate rolls of stock or carts and skids with finished product throughout the plant. Must be able to move freely on foot throughout the plant, stand for sustained periods of time, and perform pushing, pulling and lifting functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School general education or GED equivalent. Must be able to read, write legibly, follow verbal and written instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations dealing with weights and dimensions. Two (2) plus years recent experience as a Label (flexographic) Press Operator in a high quality, commercial printing company. Must test in the normal range for color on vision exam, and satisfactorily pass pre-employment physical, drug, and skills tests.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Operate a flexographic press to produce high-quality labels that match customer signed proofs and color standards.

Double-check the copy for accuracy of quantity, material, and color.

Run 4 to 10-color jobs including process and spot color printing.

Inspect and clean press parts on a regular basis and report a need for repairs/maintenance.

Communicate job-specific information or changes to the supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.

The Press Operator is responsible for assisting for the safe, quality and efficient operation of flexographic printing presses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Receives and thoroughly reviews and understands the entire job jackets, job specifications, and customer requirements.

· Performs job setup/changeover and operates/troubleshoots press following all procedures and safety measures.

· Operates while following all safety and food safety policies and procedures. Proactively reports unsafe conditions or practices.

· Reports/corrects nonconforming issues, records/tracks production output and scrap and reports runtime vs. downtime.

· Trains, guides and assists Press Assistant in their role, ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly area housekeeping procedures are being completed.

· Coordinates activities with the Press Assistant to maximize the current job run efficiency while proactively preparing for the next job to reduce machine down time.

· Visually inspects and tests film for quality defects.

· Checks all tools and equipment at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure good housekeeping is maintained.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

· Minimum of 3 year printing experience in a flexographic manufacturing environment operating a Wide Web Flexo Printing Press.

· Experience with web-based software and ERP systems required.

· Basic computer skills, required. Basic math skills, required.

· Must pass the New Hire Base Assessment Test, which measures basic arithmetic and mechanical aptitude.

· Able to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).

· Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the extent necessary to effectively communicate and interpret instructions.

· Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· 12-hour shift work experience preferred.

· Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
