Duties will include the supervision and management of production, in addition to recruiting, training and leading new team members.

Preferred candidates would have experience running narrow web flexo presses, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues with equipment operation, and the willingness to operate a press in an emergency or any necessary scenarios.

Knowledge of HP Indigo digital presses and digital finishing equipment would be a plus.

The Flexo Press Operator is responsible for the operation of a Flexographic printing press to produce and convert various raw materials into finished printed label and flexible packaging products. The Flexo Press Operator is responsible for meeting customer requirements while conforming to company standards for quality and job parameters.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Repositions printing plates, adjust pressure rolls, or otherwise adjust machines to improve print quality.

- Inspects and examines printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects using specific test methods and equipment.

- Examines job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications, colors, and color sequences.

- Selects and install printing plates, dies and cylinders in machines according to specifications.

The Technical Applications Manager will work closely with the company’s sales and production teams to provide technical expertise and support to the development and manufacturing process specific to printed shrink sleeve and flexible packaging to accomplish customer satisfaction.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately and systematically troubleshoot and determine cause of technical problems and present workable solutions to resolve machine and product performance issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Conduct printed shrink film and flexible packaging trials at facility and customer locations.

Extensive hands-on technical experience in shrink sleeve and flexible packaging applications.

A background in end use requirements and packaging/filling equipment desired.

POSITION PURPOSE: Process and package orders according to quality work instructions on travelers using production equipment such as presses, rewind machines, spoolers, laminators, rewind tables, etc. producing production parts to required tolerances and specifications.

QUANTITATIVE DATA: Continuous lifting, moving, standing, and handling of production materials and equipment. Must have the capability of lifting up to 55 lbs. intermittently throughout the shift. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machine properly. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending. Sufficient vision acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts produced.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Process orders according to quality work instructions, creating and updating work instructions when necessary.

2. Operate production equipment and perform in process quality inspections.

3. Utilize company software to perform essential functions (ie: clocking in and out of jobs, finding location of material, moving material, etc.)

4. Package and load orders as per shipping instructions on traveler and work instructions, using pallet jack or forklift truck, ensuring proper paperwork accompanies the order.

5. Observe and listen to operation of equipment to diagnose malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs, notify maintenance of any problems that arise.

6. Clean department machines and work area on a daily basis. Work as a team to ensure entire production area is clean and clutter free.

7. Perform duties safely and maintain high level of safety awareness. Follow operation standards and all department policies and company directives.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in process improvements.

2. Alert teams leader to conditions that create delays or affect quality of production work in a timely manner.

3. Assists with other projects and tasks as required by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All candidates must be able to read and write. A mechanical background is helpful. Strong attention to detail is needed. Machine operation experience helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities:

Review job ticket and work with Press Assistants to ensure job is set up properly on the press per required specifications and job notes (ink, dies, stock, plates).

Assist in setting up job and changing over to next copy or job.

Run the job setup on the press and log data related to the job setup in the LabelTrax system.

Run the job per specifications and log when completed, noting material used, etc.

While running the press, review printed rolls for quality and consistency related to all aspects of the labels including color registration and die cut.

Following completion of the job, move finished roll to finishing department and breakdown and clean machine in preparation for the next job.

Flexible packaging company in Huntley, IL is looking for 2 experienced flexo operators for their 2nd shift (3-11) Monday-Friday.

Must have at least 3 years experience printing with flexographic or gravure presses.

Candidates must have experience printing on plastic film and/or foil. Duties are to set up, operate, and maintain flexo presses, manage all

aspects of press performance including productivity and quality checks, and perform general press maintenance. Knowledge of UV and water

based inks. Also 4 color process printing is a plus.

A producer of labels, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging in Dallas, TX is looking for an experienced press operator for 2nd shift. Position is working four 10-hour shifts from 3:00pm-1:30am. Preference for candidates that have run a 10 color Nilpeter but other narrow web flexo printing experience may be considered. This location uses UV inks but they are open to water based ink experience.
