A flexible packaging manufacturer is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic. This position is a valued member of the production maintenance team. We rely on our Maintenance Mechanics to keep downtime to a minimum by using their expert skills at troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and installing all electrical, production equipment and company assets. RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer care.

Perform breakdown repairs, installation, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, etc. on all production equipment, utilities, and building to maximize efficiency and reduce down time.

Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance and repairs to plant equipment such as slitters, extruders, flexographic presses, side-weld bag machines, and solventless laminators.

Troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical problems with emphasis on electrical.

Respond to immediate repair requests of electrical, production machinery and building equipment.

Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts and written or verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks.

Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.

Seek out ways to improve equipment performance and quality of product. Recommend changes related to equipment use to increase efficiency; keep the supervisor informed of problem areas.

Use PLCs for routine troubleshooting.

Uphold all OSHA regulations, GMPs, and food safety regulations.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have 3+ years experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation in a manufacturing environment

Strong ability in all areas of electrical maintenance, including 480v 3-phase motors, variable frequency drives, and controls is required

Experience with mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, blue prints, motor drives, controls and PLC

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; understand root cause, impact on production and prevent down time in the future

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages plans and directs all graphics and plate operations for the corporation to achieve goals and objectives consistent with company objectives (safety, quality, productivity, etc.). Responsible for purchasing graphics material, printing plates and mounting tapes. Maintains graphics digital assets including press characterization specification for each product line and/or substrate.

Manages the Graphics Department and the Plate Department.

Responsible for producing contract proofs, packaging templates, digital graphic files and tiff files for plate making.

Must be able to do basic math. Must have experience operating a machine. Must be able to set up and change adjustments.

Position Summary

The machine operator will be responsible for operating equipment in the areas of coating, compounding, and/or converting. This position is responsible for the production of valuable, defect-free products that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Perform production equipment set up, clean up, safe operation and operator level maintenance of assigned equipment

Weigh, catalyze and mix coatings (coating department)

Ensure converting machines are running properly to cut product to desired widths. Read measurement devices such as rulers or calipers to ensure correct product specifications and tolerances are adhered to. (converting department)

Evaluate and tag out defects as necessary

Prepare pump and filtration systems for production process

Operate material handling equipment

Follow detailed written product specifications

The Press Operator is responsible for supporting the goals of the plant in the efficient operation of a narrow-web flexographic press. Their job is to print labels to specification, and assure that quality is being maintained in a consistent manner. Press Operators may be expected to run equipment with UV and/or water-based ink. Presses have anywhere from six - twelve stations.

This is a technical and skilled position, and a candidate must have flexo printing experience to be considered. An ideal candidate is someone mechanically inclined with solid printing-environment experience, strong math skills, good attendance, and a desire to grow their career with us!

Under general supervision, the printing press operator performs duties related to flexographic printing machines and software programs to effectively create materials per client request. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a Monday through Friday standard work week. Overtime may be occasionally required, often on short notice.
